Fostering in Derby and Derbyshire

Fostering in Derby

There are more than 1000 children in care across Derby and Derbyshire, and there is a major shortage of foster carers able to provide a stable and secure family environment for these children.

Children in need of fostering are of different ages and backgrounds, but many have had difficult life experiences and need a stable home environment in which they can flourish.

Children in care in Derby and Derbyshire need to be able to stay close to their families and friends and to attend local schools, so it is vital that we increase the number of local foster carers.

AFA are actively seeking new and experienced foster carers to provide a home for children living in Derby, Chesterfield, Alfreton, Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Swadlincote, Ripley, Belper and other towns in the area.
