Foster Carer’s Charter Review

AFA want to review their ‘Foster Carer’s Charter’, and we are looking for foster carers who are interested in getting involved. We are asking foster carers, their children, and children and young people in placement to contribute to a revised copy of the AFA Charter. All Local Authorities and Independent Fostering Agencies should have a Charter which covers:

  • The role and commitment of foster carers and staff to the children in our care
  • What foster carers want from the fostering service
  • What fostering services need from foster carers
  • What we hope to achieve for the children in our care

For examples of Foster Carer’s Charters see:

Fostering Network (fosteringnetwork.org.uk)

Norfolk County Council websites (norfolk.gov.uk)

If you, your birth children or the young people placed with you, would like to contribute to the revised charter please forward your comments (or art work) to your Placement Manager or Sara Neville, AFA Practice Standards Officer (saran@www.afafostering.com). We want to create a Charter that shows AFA’s commitment to you, and the importance of your relationship with us.
