Interested in fostering in Suffolk?

Have you been thinking about becoming a foster carer? We’d love to hear from you. Our experienced team will help guide you through the whole process. There will be challenges along the way, but it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Where in Suffolk do we need foster carers?

Children who are in need of foster care in Suffolk have come from many backgrounds. They have had a troubled start to their life so it’s important that they can maintain as much normality in their routine as possible. This includes maintaining contact with their friends and family and staying at their currently school. That’s why we are keen to find foster carers across the whole of Suffolk.

From Ipswich to Lowestoft, Stowmarket to Mildenhall and the surrounding towns and villages, there will be a child close by in need of a stable and supportive home.

We will support you through your fostering journey

AFA are proud to be able to provide our foster carers with genuine 24/7 support from our Anglia office based in Norwich. So whether you are based in Bury St Edmunds, Beccles or Sudbury, you can guarantee that we will be there if you need us.

Each AFA foster carer is allocated a Placement Manager. Our Placement Managers are fully qualified Social workers based all across Suffolk. Your dedicated worker is local to you and able to support you and any children placed however you need them.

On top of your Placement Manager, AFA provides comprehensive training to foster carers before and after approval. Our learning opportunities are suited to each individuals’ learning needs and take place within reasonable travelling distance from where you live.

We know it’s important to feel support from all sides. That’s why AFA also arrange regular coffee mornings and support groups for our foster carers. It enables our carers to support and learn from one another. Sometimes you just need to have a conversation with someone who has been there and gone through the process before.

AFA is a highly regarded and experienced independent fostering agency. To find out more about joining our AFA family please get in touch.
