October is the Fostering Network’s ‘sons and daughters month’. This is a celebration of what the children who live in foster families do to help children who become a part of their family. We know that all Placement Managers in AFA really value what the ‘children who foster’ do.
Our group fostering friends has been able to identify the good and hard things about fostering. Some of the good including helping and supporting others and having someone to share your lives and family with. The hard things are learning to live with others and seeing your parents get upset or stressed.
We would like to hear from any Sons and Daughters, Grandchildren or Adult children about your experience of fostering, good, bad or somewhere in the middle.
It would also be good to hear from our carers about their children and how they see what they give to their family.
If you have anything to say, please either pass this on through your family’s placement manager or otherwise send us an email at email@example.com
